More Broadsides commentary!
Definitely more complicated than the last one. On my first playthrough, I played a gruff, unlikeable captain, but one who was unmatched in fighting, sailing, and intelligence. I royally messed up the… social sequences, but managed to fight my way out of anything I talked my way into.

That was very, very awesome. I played through once as a Captain Ahab type, once as a Frederick Wentworth, and they both worked out pretty much as expected.

I love this type of game! It’s just a shame that they are very rarely created…

Although I’m not an expert on marine terminology, the game manages to instill a deep “Oh my god, I’m in command of a navy ship!” feeling through possible character actions and their consequences.
- Dreacos
Fantastic game. I discovered that I’m rather skilled at avoiding mutiny, although apparently incompetent at sailing in general. But at least I ended up in a happy marriage with the shy brunette – this game really nailed the type of girl I like

I really liked this game. I tried to play it as honestly as possible, and I actually got mad about what happened to Carter (was that his/her name?). I really liked Carter.

I liked this game for its immersion. The plethora of stats is a strength… Also, I felt the game rendered convincingly the challenges of being a military officer. (I’ve served two years in the Army.)

It is SO neat to see a game tribute (of all things!) to the best historical fiction novels evah, the Jack Aubrey/Stephen Maturin series by Patrick O’Brian. By the time I saw the name Christy-Palliere, I was definitely chuckling.

A wonderful addition to my journey through the books–three Huzzays!!
So I just played as Jack Aubrey, trying to make the choices I thought he would.
-ergaster
Wow, I liked this one even better than the dragon one!

That Villaneuve guy is alright once you get to know him.
