Poem in The Gloaming

I have a poem in the (alas, last ever) issue of The Gloaming magazine.

I on the other hand just played Choice of Zombies, and liked it quite a lot, despite usually avoiding stuff with zombies in it. Not sure exactly what part you made of it, but great work!

After reading the first 3 choices or so (for job, hobby and such) I made my final character, Mario, the fat, video games playing plumber XD

Here is the result of the heroic deeds of Mario, in case you are interested, I wonder if this is a good result (I can’t bring myself to replay it to see other endings)

You finished the game with the following scores:
Medical: 50
Engineering: 88
Athletics: 52
Hand to hand: 52
Firearms: 65
Reflexes: 77

You managed to kill 59 zombies.

You managed to get the following people to safety:

In my ending Mario and Justin found zombie research papers and became a hero.

Hi Jorian,

I think you in fact managed to get to the best possible ending! (…though you might have found it interesting to become a zombie. You never know. 😉 )

I co-wrote Zombies with my husband. A lot of the core work is his, since he’s the zombie trope fan, but the words on the screen are almost entirely mine. Glad you liked it!

I must say I really enjoyed it, and I guess that counts something when I am no fan of zombies to begin with. Too bad most similar games aren’t free, this one just awakened my interest in similar ones, but most games I found are only demos, although I admit I played through some others and now my favorite is one about nobles (choice of romance, intrigues?) and choice of dragons and broadsides (the one with ships?). I believe you may also have had something to do with that, feels like a very similar style of writing at some points.

Not that I know much, being native Hungarian and all. Oh yes, this reminds me: sorry for any typos and such that could occur in my writing.

In case you know something about other similar works for free (atm having issues, not that I am Scrooge or something) please share a link to it (or email me, I assume you see my email address). I would be happy if you knew if there is a third episode to the noble/royal series, if yes I do hope it has some more actual skills in it, although its unlikely the mechanics get changed due to save transfer.

btw, any chance you know of a city/tribe/empire game of similar sorts? to make it rich/expand/advanced? I believe such game would also fit this genre well, especially if you mix into the theme/setting some fantasy high magic and steampunk, lots of steampunk. XD

Hi Jorian/Roland,

Here is a full listing of Choice of Games:

And here is a full listing of games users have made using the ChoiceScript tool:

Off the top of my head, I can’t remember which have a free, ad-supported version and which do not, but I think “most of them” is the answer.

I was in fact one of the two writers on Romance and Intrigues, and I am pleased to report that the conclusion of the trilogy is coming veryveryvery soon – I am right now as we speak engaged in editing work.

So glad you enjoy our stuff!
